I couldn’t help posting this song given its political implications. The song was used throughout the 2008 campaign and at Obama’s election night rally at Grant Park in Chicago, the song was one of the first of three songs played to warm up the audience for Obama’s victory speech. This election cycle it was also used and was notably present last night at the Obama HQ when the Obama family came out and gave his victory speech for 2012 victory speech.
This song gave Stevie Wonder his first Grammy and established him as a musical icon much as it has helped establish President Obama as a political icon. There are several versions of the song, but these are two of my favorites.
